LOCATION: The position will be based at design office in Lahore, Pakistan with occasional visits to project site for addressing design issues during construction.

The role

We are seeking an experienced Design Team Leader for one of our under-construction hydropower project based in KPK Province, Pakistan. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the design and construction dams & hydropower projects, especially large projects:

• Lead and manage the design team of about 20 staff in the design review and improvements in the tender designs of large CFRD over 200 M tall and other components (spillway, power house, tunnels etc) of 800 MW hydropower project.
• Ensure all designs are in strict compliance with relevant engineering standards, codes, and regulatory requirements and issue IFC drawings.
• Oversee the design review process and ensure timely delivery of high-quality design solutions that align with project goals.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure integration and compatibility of various design components & timely delivery to the contractor.
• Review and approve design documents, reports, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure clear communication and alignment of design objectives.
• Support during construction stages for design clarification, technical support, and resolution of design-related issues.

With a track record of achievement in a related role, you will have gained your experience in a consultancy environment and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change.

Suitable applicants will have/be:

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an internationally recognized university/institution. Higher qualification will be preferable.
• Minimum of 25 years of overall professional experience, with at least 20 years specifically in the design and construction of dams & hydropower projects including about 10 to 15 years in CFRD design /construction.
• Proven track record of leadership in complex dam engineering projects, particularly within the hydropower sector.
• Strong understanding of international standards and best practices in dam & hydropower design and construction.
• Excellent communication skills (English)
