About the Role

This role involves designing, building, and maintaining high-performance mobile applications for Android using Java.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create efficient and scalable code by translating designs and wireframes into high-quality software.
  • Develop, build, and maintain high-performance, reusable, and reliable Java code to meet quality standards.
  • Ensure optimal performance, quality, and responsiveness of mobile applications through thorough testing and debugging.
  • Identify and rectify bottlenecks and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and improve code organization, automation, and efficiency.
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of the Android SDK, different versions of Android, and handling diverse screen sizes.
  • Proficient in Android development using Java (proficiency in languages like Kotlin/C++/Python/C# is advantageous).
  • Significant experience in publishing mobile apps on the Google Play Store.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to integrate Android applications with back-end services.
  • In-depth understanding of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices.
  • Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance optimization techniques.
  • Able to design intuitive applications that leverage natural user interfaces, such as touch.
  • Familiarity with additional sensors, such as gyroscopes and accelerometers (advantageous).
  • Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and libraries available for common tasks.
  • Able to interpret business requirements and translate them into actionable technical plans.
  • Familiarity with cloud messaging APIs and push notifications.
  • A knack for benchmarking and optimizing application performance.
  • Familiarity with Google's Android design principles and interface guidelines.
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git or DevOps.
