Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Engineer to join our Advanced Tech R&D team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for machine learning applied to generative audio, video, and natural language use cases.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Innovative Algorithm Development: Develop cutting-edge machine learning algorithms for audio and speech generative models, publish research papers, and file patents to achieve state-of-the-art performance in audio/NLP applications.
  2. Feature Combination: Combine features from multi-modalities such as video, audio, sensors, and location to create innovative solutions.
  3. Solution Demonstration and Deployment: Showcase solutions to technical and business audiences, then work with commercialization teams to deploy solutions on Qualcomm platforms and customer devices.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience with audio and speech generative networks, synthesis, restoration, and TTS models.
  • Familiarity with recent ML trends (diffusion models, U-Nets, Transformers, BERT, BART) and traditional statistical techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing generative models in audio and speech.
  • Proficiency in designing, implementing, and training DL algorithms using frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Willingness for hands-on R&D in modeling audio, speech, and text data.
  • Experience working in cross-disciplinary, geographically dispersed teams.
Education Requirements
  • Required: Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Preferred: Doctorate in the same fields.
Experience
  • At least 2 years of R&D experience in computer vision, image, NLP, or multimodal applications in academia or industry.
