The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial management and bookkeeping principles, with the ability to maintain accurate records using Excel spreadsheets and accounting software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update financial records for medical and SME clients, ensuring compliance with UK regulations.

  • Prepare and file VAT returns in accordance with UK tax laws.

  • Assist in the preparation of annual accounts for individual practitioners and businesses.

  • Perform bookkeeping tasks, including reconciling control accounts (bank, VAT, payroll, debtors, creditors).

Requirements:

  • A proactive approach with personal drive and enthusiasm, demonstrating eagerness to learn and grow within a professional accountancy setting.

  • Proficiency in Accounting Software such as FreeAgent, Xero, CCH, and a basic understanding of UK VAT rules and filing processes via HMRC portals.

  • Strong planning, organization, and administration skills, with the ability to positively engage and communicate with team members and managers at all levels.

  • Strong time management and prioritization skills, with a keen eye for detail and ability to identify errors or inconsistencies in client books and records.

  • Confident and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing circumstances and priorities.
