Search Engine Optimization Expert

The goal of an SEO Specialist is to boost a website's search engine rankings through various on-page and off-page strategies, including link-building, content strategy, information architecture, and more.

This dynamic role requires ongoing learning and adaptation in response to changes in search algorithms and industry trends.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop effective optimization plans to enhance the company's online presence
  • Analyze data and results to inform strategic decisions and drive maximum ROI
  • Manage SEO campaigns within budget constraints
  • Collaborate with editorial and marketing teams to integrate SEO into content creation
  • Research and implement recommendations for improved search engine visibility
  • Design and execute link building strategies
  • Establish measurable goals to evaluate marketing effectiveness
  • Create high-quality website content to improve search engine rankings

Day-to-Day Duties:

  • Optimize website pages for search engine marketing
  • Monitor daily performance metrics using SEO tools like Google Analytics
  • Collaborate with the marketing department to develop and implement SEO strategies
  • Conduct ongoing keyword research and discovery to inform SEO efforts
  • Work with the web development team to ensure SEO best practices are implemented

Requirements:

  • No formal education program exists for this role
  • Break into the position through experience, research, and trial and error
  • Experience with Google and Bing services, including Analytics and Webmaster Tools
  • Experience with Google's Keyword Tool
  • Familiarity with HTML and CSS fundamentals
  • Able to work with back-end SEO elements like metadata, site speed optimization, and related skills
  • Proven success in link building and viral marketing strategies
  • Able to implement local and long-tail search strategies
  • Understanding of mobile strategy and its impact on SEO
  • Familiarity with blogging, press releases, social media, and related strategies
  • Ability to create reports showing web analytics data and site evaluations
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging trends in the SEO industry
  • Familiarity with leading SEO tools
