Job Title:

SME Development Lead

 

The position seeks a seasoned professional to spearhead SME development activities in Pakistan. The successful candidate will oversee the technical direction of SME development and BDS initiatives, ensuring timely and consistent results across program areas.

 

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Law or related field and demonstrate experience developing SME capital markets, SME debt financing, or SME Business Development Services in emerging markets. A proven track record of working with diverse stakeholders, partners, and government institutions is essential.

 

The role will be based in Islamabad, with a focus on promoting sustainable economic growth in Pakistan through improved access to finance for SMEs and provision of business development services.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership on SME development/BDS activities
  • Participate in and provide input for SME development/BDS strategic plan
  • Oversee SME development/BDS activities and their integration into cross-cutting activities
  • Serve as SME development/BDS liaison to USAID, Pakistani officials, counterparts, other donors, and management
  • Evaluate the performance of program activities and prepare regular progress reports
  • Carry out SME mapping and design appropriate business support services
  • Design linkages for SME development/BDS to academia and the private sector

 

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Law, or related field
  • Technical experience in relevant sectors
  • Experience developing SME capital markets, SME debt financing, or SME Business Development Services in emerging markets
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse stakeholders, partners, and government institutions
