We are seeking a skilled Senior Database Specialist with 7-10 years of experience to design, optimize and maintain high-performance SQL databases. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL expertise, preferably in the retail domain, and proficiency in cloud-based solutions and ETL processes.

Job Description:

As a Senior Database Specialist, you will be responsible for writing, optimizing and troubleshooting complex SQL queries to ensure high performance and reliability. You will also design, develop and maintain efficient and scalable SQL databases, queries and stored procedures.

Responsibilities:

  1. Write, optimize and troubleshoot complex SQL queries to ensure high performance and reliability.
  2. Design, develop and maintain efficient and scalable SQL databases, queries and stored procedures.
  3. Collaborate with developers and analysts to ensure seamless integration between databases and applications.
  4. Monitor and analyze database performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks or issues.
  5. Implement and maintain data security, backup and recovery strategies to protect critical information.
  6. Perform data quality checks and ensure data integrity across systems.
  7. Participate in database migrations and upgrades, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.
  8. Work in a dynamic environment to meet evolving business requirements and priorities.

Requirements:

  • Strong expertise inSQL Server(or similar RDBMS) and proficiency in writing complex queries, stored procedures, functions and triggers.
  • Proficiency in database design, normalization and data modeling.
  • Knowledge ofperformance tuningtechniques and query optimization.
  • Experience withcloud-based database solutions(e.g., AWS RDS) is a plus.
  • Experience withETL processesand tools (e.g., SSIS, or similar) is a plus.
  • Problem-solving skills with excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
