Job Title: Taxation Specialist

About the Role:
The Assistant Tax Manager will play a vital role in preparing and submitting various tax-related documents, including monthly sales tax returns and withholding tax returns. Additionally, this position entails preparing tax challans, annual income tax returns, and responding to tax authority notices.

Responsibilities:
- Filing of Monthly Sales Tax Returns: This includes all companies within The Monal Group.
- Filing of Monthly Withholding Tax (Salary and Other than Salary) Returns: This includes all companies within The Monal Group.
- Preparation of Tax Challans: Income tax and sales tax challans are prepared as part of this responsibility.
- Preparation of Annual Income Tax Return: All projects within The Monal Group are covered under this responsibility.
- Preparation of Annual Withholding Tax Returns: All projects within The Monal Group are covered under this responsibility.
- Correspondence with Vendors and Customers: Sales tax invoices are obtained from vendors, and tax deduction certificates are provided to them. Advance tax deduction certificates are provided to customers.
- Staying Updated on Taxation Matters: Taxation rates, rules, and regulations are kept track of by the Assistant Tax Manager.
- Liaison with Finance, Marketing, and Procurement Departments: Taxation matters are discussed with these departments as needed.

Requirements:
A minimum of 2 years of experience in taxation is required for this role. Industry experience is preferred over audit firm experience. Candidates must have a Master's degree or equivalent qualification. Professional certifications such as CA, ACCA, ICMA, or CIMA are highly valued. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and any accounting software is expected. eFBR website expertise is also necessary. Strong knowledge of Pakistani taxation rates, rules, and regulations is essential. The ability to work hard and collaborate with diverse group members is crucial.
