Senior IT Project Manager Job Description

This position is responsible for leading all stages and types of IT initiatives from proposal and requirements definition to project planning and implementation. A major part of this role is to provide a proactive interface between internal customers and technical/programming staff ensuring effective definition and delivery of business applications.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver effective business applications that meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Define and document complex business requirements and processes.
  • Lead design sessions and review sessions with technical and business staff including all levels of management.
  • Evaluate and assess vendor proposals.
  • Manage multiple parallel projects using formal project planning techniques.
  • Direct the activities of on-site and off-site consultants.
  • Manage application design through various life-cycle stages from business needs through design and delivery.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong business analyst and project management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multitask and work under pressure/deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and consistent follow-through.
  • Ability to understand complex business requirements.
  • Experience in an IT environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and problem-solving.
  • Ability to take technical direction from Technical Architects.
  • Lead manage mentor and communicate with development resources.
