Job Title: Software Productivity Strategists Lead

The role of a Software Productivity Strategists Lead is to develop strategies for improving the software development process within an organization. This includes recruiting, managing, and developing a team of developers and QA engineers who develop IoT and/or cognitive applications using IBM Bluemix and IBM Watson.

The ideal candidate will have extensive research and development experience, with a strong understanding of complex computer science concepts. They will be expected to understand complex computer science concepts, do research on those, come up with strategies to solve the problems, and lead the team in implementing these solutions.

  • This involves designing REST APIs, establishing software development processes, and defining standards for Agile software development.
  • They will also be responsible for keeping up to date on the latest industry software development innovations and leveraging these to improve the products we develop.

The Software Development Lead will work closely with the Senior Technical Project Manager to support budget estimations for technology components/services, contract negotiations for technology components/services, and resolve any L3/L4 technical issues that arise in Production.

Requirements:
  • 7+ years software development experience
  • 2+ years experience in managing software development teams in an Agile environment with mixed skill sets (e.g., some backend, some front-end developers, etc.)
  • 2+ years experience in a software architect role
  • Experience with designing REST APIs
