DevOps Engineer Position Overview

This role involves collaborating with software engineers to manage and maintain staging and production systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with automation and configuration management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining and upgrading our deployment and system health check processes.
  • Utilizing a variety of open source technologies and cloud services, including AWS.

Key Skills Required:

  • Strong background in Linux/Unix administration.
  • Experience with shell scripting and automation/configuration management.
  • A good understanding of EC2, S3, EDE, and other AWS services.
  • Database administration skills.
  • Familiarity with code and script development (C++, Java, Python, Perl, or Ruby).
  • Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always available environment.
  • Ability to administer Nginx, MySQL, Monit, Sphinx, and other tools.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Hands-on experience as a DevOps Engineer for at least 2 years.

We're looking for someone who is detail-oriented, able to rapidly learn new concepts, and possesses strong problem-solving skills. As a team player, you should be able to communicate effectively at all levels.
