Research Opportunity in Genome Engineering

The Department of Bioinformatics and Biotechnology invites applications from talented PhD scholars for a research studentship position in the field of genome engineering. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on an exciting project focused on CRISPR/Cas9 directed genome engineering of Bacillus spp. for the production of polyhydroxyalkanoates using organic waste.

Job Description:

This is a full-time research-based position that requires a PhD scholar to contribute to a cutting-edge research project under the supervision of a senior researcher. The candidate will be responsible for designing, executing, and analyzing experiments related to genome engineering and polymer production.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Enrolled PhD scholar in the discipline of biotechnology or a related field.
  • Strong background in molecular biology, genetics, and biochemistry.
  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques, including PCR, cloning, and gene expression analysis.
Benefits:

The successful candidate will receive a monthly stipend and the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a state-of-the-art research laboratory. The contract duration is one year, extendable for further two years based on satisfactory performance and availability of funds.
