Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for managing debtors, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining accurate records. You will also be involved in debt collection, credit risk assessment, reporting, account reconciliation, compliance, customer relations, legal action support, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Debtors: Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments and maintain accurate records.
  • Debt Collection: Chase outstanding payments through calls, emails, and letters, negotiate repayment plans with clients, and follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Credit Risk Assessment: Assess the creditworthiness of potential customers using financial data, credit reports, and other sources.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable, outstanding debts, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Account Reconciliation: Investigate and resolve discrepancies or disputes in customer accounts.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and maintain proper documentation of credit agreements and correspondence with customers.
  • Customer Relations: Build strong relationships with clients to ensure smooth payment processes and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Legal Action Support: Liaise with legal teams to initiate legal proceedings against non-paying clients when necessary.
  • Process Improvement: Recommend improvements to the credit control process to minimize risk and enhance efficiency.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you should have a degree in Accounts & Finance, strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
