The position of Biostatistician at the Department of Biological and Biomedical Sciences involves providing academic and research support for faculty and staff.

  • Support will be provided for the development of new courses, designing research study protocols, and development of assessments and tutorials for the MPhil in Biological and Biomedical Sciences program.
  • Statistical data analysis support will be given for manuscript and grant writing.
  • The successful candidate will actively contribute to the departmental Research Aims Methodology clinic for improving the quality and scientific rigor of research proposals.
Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will participate and contribute towards teaching and assessment in graduate (MPhil and PhD) and other academic programs of the department. They will develop courses in biostatistics, contribute to curriculum design and continual curriculum updating, supervise and coordinate MPhil and PhD projects within the area of expertise, and engage in scholarly activities.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have a minimum of Master's degree in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or a related quantitative field from an accredited institution. Additionally, you should have strong knowledge of statistical principles relevant in medical research and excellent analytical, mathematical, and statistical skills. Proficiency in R software and SPSS software is also required.
