The Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of full-time Senior Instructor, Biostatistician in the Department of Biological and Biomedical Sciences.

Responsibilities

Specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing academic and research support for faculty and staff for the development of new courses, designing research study protocols, and development of assessments and tutorials for the MPhil in Biological and Biomedical Sciences program.
  • Statistical data analysis support for manuscript and grant writing.
  • Actively contributing to the departmental Research Aims Methodology clinic for improving the quality and scientific rigor of research proposals.
  • Participating and contributing towards teaching and assessment in graduate (MPhil and PhD) and other academic programs of the department and the institution, developing courses in biostatistics, contributing to curriculum design and continual curriculum updating, supervising and coordinating MPhil and PhD projects within the area of expertise, and engaging in scholarly activities.
Requirements

You should have:

  • A minimum of Master's degree in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or a related quantitative field from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical principles relevant in medical research.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and statistical skills.
  • Proficiency in R software and SPSS software.
  • Good research project organizational skills with the ability to work with biomedical sciences researchers.
  • Demonstrated ability to have contributed towards the building of successful research projects.
  • Proven ability to develop graduate teaching courses in biostatistics.
