Director of Research Innovation

As a key leader in the research sector, you will be responsible for driving innovation excellence within an academic institution. Your primary objective will be to develop and implement policies and priorities that foster collaboration between academia, industry, and government.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Commercialization: Develop and execute a comprehensive plan to monetize intellectual property, license agreements, and research collaborations.
  2. Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day activities of the Office of Research and Innovation Commercialization, ensuring effective coordination with relevant university departments.
  3. Financial Planning and Budgeting: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and manage departmental resources, ensuring optimal allocation and utilization.
  4. Intellectual Property Management: Work closely with the web committee to maintain the IP webpage, highlighting successful commercialization stories and promoting Institute achievements.
  5. External Partnerships: Collaborate with the Development Office to showcase Institute success stories, leveraging them to enhance commercialization efforts.
  6. Tech Transfer and Licensing: Partner with senior colleagues to coordinate the commercialization of Institute IP in conjunction with external partners.
Requirements:
  • PhD with expertise in research and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and strong ties with local government, business, industry, and social communities.

The salary package will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
