Job Overview

International Medical Corps is seeking an experienced professional to serve as a WASH Hygiene Promoter. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering WASH hygiene promotion and community mobilization activities in the coordination and guidance of the Senior Officer WASH or WASH Manager.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct rapid needs assessments, analyze results, and conduct household-level assessments.
  • Support the WASH officer in transitioning identified needs into activity plans and budgets.
  • Deliver implementation of WASH response program aims and objectives in line with the WASH Coordinator's guidance and strategy.
  • Mobilize communities on behavior change related to hygiene practices and identify suitable messages for target populations.
  • Collaborate with community volunteers to identify locations/sites for WASH infrastructure construction/rehabilitation.

Program Design and Implementation:
  • Conduct focus group discussions on good hygiene practices.
  • Organize training sessions and participate in facilitation at health facilities, IDP camps, schools, and host communities.
  • Train and monitor Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) on conducting hygiene promotion sessions and completing log sheets accurately.
  • Collect CHVs' log sheets monthly and report progress to the supervisor.

Information and Coordination:
  • Provide regular updates and technical guidance to the WASH Coordinator on progress, priorities, and challenges.
  • Represent International Medical Corps in governmental and non-governmental groups as assigned by the WASH Coordinator.

This role supports concept papers and proposals for interventions and provides data in close cooperation with the team.
