Procurement Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team.

  • To ensure compliance with competitive bidding rules and diligence in validating new suppliers (by completing supplier visits) before recommending them for business consideration.
  • Achieve target savings of 5% of addressable spend by ensuring procurement processes align with the competitive bidding policy on PRs ranging from $100,001 - $1,000,000 and handover to Operations for conversion to Purchase Orders.
  • IDentify opportunities (consolidation, rationalization, etc.) and collaborate with strategic buyers to define future course of action.
  • Manage supplier performance and focus on smooth procurement operations.
  • Provide guidance and support to operational buyers and facilitate the resolution of issues.

The key responsibilities will be:

  1. Ensure data reliability in the system (Short text, Material group, Delivery dates, Payment terms, etc.).
  2. Follow-up and escalation of operational issues with vendors.
  3. Allocation of PR to Operations and Strategic Buyers as per agreed allocation criteria.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated success over a sustained period (2-3 years) in delivering competitive advantage to the business through development and implementation of sourcing strategies for the spend category in charge.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead projects.
  • Demonstrated successful use of Total Cost of Ownership analysis, risk management, responsible sourcing, and supplier relation management.
  • Successfully negotiated in cross-functional and cross-market teams.
