Secure Software Project Leader

Job Summary:

We seek an experienced leader with a strong background in cybersecurity to oversee project lifecycles, ensure compliance with security best practices, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software on time.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in software project management, a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field, and a deep understanding of Agile, Scrum, and DevSecOps methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of software development projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and security standards.
  • Cybersecurity Compliance: Integrate security best practices into project planning, ensuring adherence to industry regulations.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact between technical teams, executive leadership, and clients.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, particularly related to cybersecurity threats.
  • Team Coordination: Work with developers, security engineers, and QA teams to define project milestones and deliverables.
  • Agile & Scrum Methodologies: Lead Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and retrospectives to optimize team performance.
  • Security Oversight: Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats and integrate relevant security measures into software development.
  • Budget & Resource Management: Ensure projects stay within budget while meeting security and performance requirements.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software project management.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CIS, OWASP, etc.).
  • Experience with secure SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Agile, Scrum, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Familiarity with security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, penetration testing, encryption protocols).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Certifications such as PMP, CSM, CISSP, CISM, or AWS Security Specialty (preferred).

Preferred Experience:

  • Managing projects involving cloud security, application security, or data protection.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and secure coding practices.
  • Experience handling compliance audits and security assessments.
