Accountant Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced accountant to oversee and manage a team of bookkeepers.

The ideal candidate will deliver quality information to senior managers and other departments within the practice.

Built relationships throughout the practice to ensure cohesive working between bookkeeping teams and departments such as accounts, payroll and tax.

Identify and deliver process improvements, driving positive change focusing on efficiencies and output.

Review VAT returns, bookkeeping files and supporting schedules.

Resolve internal and external queries arising from bookkeeping review.

Review detailed management accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • VAT knowledge including Cash Accounting, Partial Exemption, Flat Rate Scheme, Margin Scheme, Export/Import VAT and Duty, Property Rules.
  • Preparation of FRS 102 1A standard accounts and FRS 105 accounts.
  • Draft tax computations and provision for inclusion in the accounts.

Technical Skills

  • Experience in following accounting software.
  • Excellent knowledge of Xero essential.
  • Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Excel essential.
