Healthcare Billing QA Engineer Job Description

We're looking for a skilled Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of end-to-end healthcare solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on product requirements and workflows.
  • Perform manual and automated testing for web-based healthcare billing applications.
  • Validate healthcare billing workflows including claims submission, ERA processing, eligibility checks, and patient statements.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality automated tests using Postman and API testing tools.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product managers to ensure timely delivery and product quality.
  • Participate in client meetings to understand workflows and replicate real-world scenarios for testing.
  • Ensure adherence to HIPAA compliance and healthcare data privacy standards during testing.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in QA/testing roles for web applications.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare billing systems and terminology (claims, remits, CPT/ICD codes, insurance validation, etc.).
  • Experience with manual testing, including functional, regression, integration, and smoke testing.
  • Proficiency in API testing (REST/JSON), understanding request/response formats, and validating backend logic.
  • Familiarity with databases, especially MySQL, and ability to write queries for data validation.
  • Good grasp of SDLC/STLC, QA methodologies, and test documentation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
