**Job Summary:**

  • This is a grant-funded contractual position that requires an experienced professional to manage research grants, contracts, and agreements.

The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Science, or equivalent, with at least three to four years of experience in research and grants administration.

They will be responsible for negotiating with various departments, providing advice and guidance, acting as a liaison, conducting sessions, reviewing proposals, managing a high volume of proposals, and ensuring each project concludes with a closeout process.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of research administration, US federal and non-federal sponsors, preferably in a university environment, and understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), OMB Circulars, and related policies.

Responsibilities:

  1. Negotiate with various departments to ensure timely completion of the grant checklist process.
  2. Provide advice and guidance regarding sponsored projects administration to the Principal Investigator (PI).
  3. Act as a liaison between the PI and the Office of Research and Graduate Studies to resolve pressing concerns and meet submission deadlines.
  4. Conduct regular sessions for the PI and senior research staff on the dynamics and updates in due diligence processes.
  5. Review proposals in light of institutional and granting agency requirements.
  6. Manage a high volume of proposals and subawards, many with significant complexity, liaising with the legal department as needed.
  7. Keep abreast of developments in research and grants administration, such as CFR, AFR, etc.
  8. Assist in resolving modifications issues, including contacting funding agencies.
  9. Review specific terms and conditions regarding the allowability of expenses and auditing subcontracts for proper funding allocation.
  10. Ensure each project concludes with a closeout process, completing all work, submitting required reports, and resolving financial matters.
  11. Ensure all active projects have valid ERCs, which may involve sending regular progress reports.
  12. Guide faculty on informing ERC about proposal changes and keeping ERC updated.
  13. Timely submission of new applications or exemptions to the Departmental Research Committee and subsequently to ERC.
  14. Coordinate with other departments to ensure research grants comply with regulatory requirements.
