Job Title: Operational Director

This role provides strategic direction to the Manufacturing and Finishing Operations team. The Operational Director will report directly to the Operations Senior Manager, responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, cGMP, EHS & quality standards during manufacturing and finishing operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and monitor operational plans for optimal resource utilization (material, labor, and overheads).
  • Evaluate products manufactured under conditions meeting company policies, EHS standards, regulatory, and cGMP requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, security standing orders, and code of business conduct.
  • Provide necessary resources (area, equipment, workforce) to produce products of required quality.
  • Conduct initial and continuing training for production personnel, including GMP training as needed.
  • Offer strategic direction in manufacturing technology and equipment.
  • Coordinate with Quality regarding QA audits, CAPA, complaints, ERs, market returns, and trend analysis reports.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Regulatory, Technical Centre, Engineering, and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues, nonconforming issue disposition, and ensure uninterrupted product deliveries.
  • Prepare the annual plant budget in consultation with Finance and obtain approval from Management.
  • Establish a master schedule directing all manufacturing, purchasing, and manufacturing-related engineering activities.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and perform root cause analysis where applicable.
  • Review and approve technical documents, including SOPs, manufacturing and finishing directions, in-process controls, shop orders, validation documents, change requests, CAPAs, and ERs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 10 years of experience in manufacturing and finishing operations.
  • Knowledge of drug regulations, cGMP requirements, and quality standards.
  • Understanding of supply chain management in multinational companies.
  • Awareness of operational finance and capital budgeting.
  • Understanding of business excellence (continuous improvement) and new product development activities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
