The role of Senior UK Payroll Expert is a high-profile position within our organisation. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the processing of payrolls for multiple clients, ensuring timely and accurate execution according to client-specific requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Payroll Management: Manage end-to-end payroll processing for multiple clients, ensuring timely and accurate payroll execution according to client-specific requirements.
  • Compliance and Regulations: Ensure client payrolls comply with HMRC requirements, including PAYE, NIC, statutory payments, and pensions.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the payroll team, providing training and support to ensure high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Client Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding payroll queries, updates, and consultations on payroll-related matters.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously assess payroll processes to streamline and improve accuracy, addressing any pain points unique to client payrolls.
  • Reporting and Reconciliation: Generate accurate payroll reports for clients, and perform payroll account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies with finance teams as needed.
  • Year-End and Statutory Reporting: Oversee year-end payroll activities for clients, including P60s, P11Ds, and any other statutory reporting.
  • System Management: Utilize and maintain payroll software, ensuring data integrity and customization as required by individual clients.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in payroll management, ideally within a professional services or client payroll environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll regulations, HMRC compliance, and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Experience with payroll software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple client payrolls and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build client relationships and explain complex payroll issues clearly.
  • Professional certifications in payroll are highly desirable.
