Nurse Aid Job Opportunity in Family Medicine and Community Health

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Aid to join our healthcare team in Karachi. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring a safe and healthy environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure patient safety by keeping side rails up and beds locked
  • Apply ID bands on all patients
  • Frequent hand washing and adhering to infection control policies to prevent nosocomial infections
  • Maintain isolation principles and report any breaches
  • Provide excellent patient care, preventing falls and injuries
  • Adhere to safety and infection control standards in patient care delivery
  • Keep the patient unit clean and organized
  • Perform bed making and linen changes as required
  • Orient new patients to the unit's surroundings and environment
  • Measure and record vital signs, weight, and height of new patients
  • Collect and document patient information, including medical history and treatment plans
  • Obtain information from physicians, caregivers, and nurses about patient condition and treatment plans
  • Perform patient blood sugar tests and record results
  • Provide hygiene care, including bathing, back care, nail care, mouth care, hair care, and perineal care
  • Assist with food and fluid intake as needed
  • Empty and measure urinary bags, reporting significant changes to nurses and physicians
  • Measure and record food and liquid intake, urinary output, and fecal output
  • Change patient positions according to routine protocol
  • Assist with passive range of motion exercises and postural drainage as instructed
  • Assist with safe patient transfers to and from bed to chair and wheelchair
  • Help shift patients to OR, Radiology, and other departments as required
  • Assist RNs, RMs, LPNs, Techs, and physicians with procedures as needed
  • Prepare equipment and trolleys for procedures, stocking supplies and instruments
  • Clean incubators and warmers daily
  • Prep and operate equipment according to procedure
  • Check and maintain equipment in working order
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and report unusual events or incidents to shift Incharge/HN/AHN
  • Maintain good working relationships with peers and health team members
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by In-charge nurse or delegate
