Job Title: Environmental Social Manager

To excel in this role, you must ensure project compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations. You will be responsible for implementing the Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP) and overseeing the E&S performance of the Operations Contractor.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and implement environmental and social policies, plans, and procedures. Conduct on-site inspections to monitor environmental and OSHA performance.
  • Prepare and submit project permit applications to relevant authorities. Engage with stakeholders on project performance and provide information on a regular basis.
  • liaise with agencies responsible for implementation of project commitments to regional biodiversity action plans and sediment mining plans. Monitor and support Corporate Social Responsibility commitments and livelihood restoration commitments for project-affected people.
  • Comply with labor laws and internationally recognized core labor standards. Ensure emergency preparedness and response plan effectiveness and coordinate corrective measures with external agencies.
  • Support incident and grievance investigations, follow up on corrective actions, and ensure all incidents and complaints are resolved appropriately.
  • Oversee studies and preparation of plans, review and update Environmental and Social Management Plans during operations stage of the project. Carry out ESHS management training and capacity building.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to management and lenders.
