UNDP works with the Government and people of Pakistan to develop local solutions to development challenges. In an evolving development context, we support Pakistan's efforts to build a more equitable, prosperous, peaceful and resilient society, and to achieve its SDGs and COP25 targets. Our goal is to improve the lives of the people of Pakistan through keeping people out of poverty; governance for peaceful, just and inclusive societies; crisis prevention and increased resilience; nature-based solutions for development; clean affordable energy; and women's empowerment and gender equality.

Between June and August 2022, torrential rains and a combination of riverine, urban, and flash flooding led to an unprecedented and devastating disaster in Pakistan that led to a huge humanitarian crisis and set back Pakistan's development trajectory considerably. We have launched the Flood Reconstruction and Coordination Programme which aims to deliver results in three key areas: enhanced Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) systems, improved governance mechanisms and capacities for resilient flood recovery, and enhanced recovery support through reconstruction of houses and rehabilitation of community physical infrastructure in Quetta district.

  • Act as the primary liaison between UNDP and relevant government ministries, agencies, and international donors involved in our Programme.
  • Facilitate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at both Federal & Provincial levels.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, reports, and knowledge management systems for effective implementation.
  • Analyze data, track progress and recommend improvements to improve the efficiency of our projects.
  • Provide administrative support for capacity building initiatives
  • Track the implementation status of key components of our Programme and provide updates to stakeholders.
  • Lead management and coordination of strategic partnerships for our initiatives under the Programme.
  • Support the development, operationalization and roll-out of our M&E dashboard.
  • Collect and clean data from various sources and create data visualizations.
  • Support the development and maintenance of databases and data systems.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, coordination skills, report writing skills, data collection and analysis skills, indicator development and results tracking skills, reporting and communication skills, project planning and evaluation design skills, stakeholder coordination and capacity building skills. Additionally, the candidate should possess accountability, adaptability, creativity, judgement, planning and organising skills, professionalism and self-management skills.

Terms of Reference

This is a national UNV assignment, and a Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) of PKR 183,920 is provided monthly to cover housing, utilities and normal cost of living expenses. Life health and permanent disability insurance are included, as well as final repatriation (if applicable) and resettlement allowance for satisfactory service.
