
Insurance Risk Manager

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in Business Administration with at least four years of relevant experience in insurance-related matters.
Fresh Chartered Accountants or Certified Management Accountants are also welcome to apply.
Preference will be given to candidates holding a Diploma in Insurance.
We are seeking a highly skilled professional to perform the following key responsibilities:
- Regularly assess the company's insurance needs, taking into account potential exposure to loss from various causes and estimating the probable amount of loss.
- Collaborate with management to invite proposals from insurance companies for covering the company against losses. Evaluate the terms of various proposals received, identify areas for deletion or attachment of riders, and obtain revised proposals for useful comparisons.
- Support management in developing recommendations for insurance coverage for various assets and employees, and secure approval from the relevant authority.
- Periodically coordinate with asset custodians to obtain up-to-date information about the physical condition of assets and any additions or deletions, and promptly inform the insurance company of any material changes in value or location of insured assets.
- Determine the type of insurance cover required for imported goods, suggest strategies for obtaining insurance cover, and recommend awarding contracts after ensuring compliance with Public Procurement Rules (PPR) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Review tender evaluation reports prepared by the procurement department and recommend awards after verifying that all rules and guidelines have been met.
- Supervise the accurate processing of bills against service contracts for ditching and backfilling, as well as telecom services, in accordance with the scheduled timeline.
- Ensure that cash payments being processed are validated and do not violate guidelines provided in the Schedule of Financial Authority.
- Participate in pre-qualification processes for vendors/service providers.
- Liaise with excise and shipping authorities for filing claims related to losses on imported consignments.
- Coordinate with user departments for obtaining details of vehicles owned or leased by the company and any changes in additions or deletions, and inform the concerned insurance companies.
- Obtain employee details from the user department and advise changes to insurance companies providing life, health, accident, or other types of cover to employees.
