Project Officer

To provide support in the implementation of project activities in designated areas.

Sustainable Social Development Organization (SSDO) is a research-based non-governmental advocacy organization committed to contributing to societal well-being through an institutionalized system of social development and responsible citizenship. Its primary objective is to stimulate public and policy dialogue on social development policies, legislative processes, democratization, rule of law, good governance, human rights, and civic action.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts field assessments either independently or as part of multidisciplinary teams.
  • Responsible for mobilizing, engaging, and liaising with project partners, particularly universities, government officials, media, and targeted community members, for their support in implementing project activities.
  • Supports the project manager in developing a knowledge base and relevant content for organizing mobilization activities, capacity building, social media campaigns, and other related activities.
  • Ensures strong documentation and timely reporting of programs, providing support in preparing reports, lessons learned documentation, stories of change, and other program-related documentation when required.
  • Collects, manages, and maintains program data in both soft and hard copies in a timely manner.
  • Built long-term relationships through networking and promoting project activities with relevant stakeholders.
  • Supports the program team in organizing visits.
  • Provides support to the project team in achieving the results of the project.
  • Coordinates the organization of meetings, workshops, conferences, trainings, and related activities relevant to the implementation of the project.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in social sciences or any relevant field of education.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years' work experience in the development sector, especially in the implementation of projects on themes including rule of law, democratic justice governance, gender-based violence, youth development, and citizens' engagement.
  • At least half of which should have been related to coordination, project management, community outreach, government liaison, and organizing events.
  • Active use of social media platforms, specifically Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and v-logging on different social and political issues.
  • Understanding and skills around program management and reporting.
  • Proactive in communication and information sharing.
  • Working experience on migration issues and projects.

Languages: Excellent command of English and Urdu, verbal and written.
