Job Summary:

The Empowerment Program Coordinator will oversee the planning and implementation of regular activities within a Women and Girls Safe Space (WGSS). This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of women and girls.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with stakeholders to plan WGSS programs, including assessments to identify appropriate locations, modalities, and approaches for implementation.
  • Contribute to capacity building and implementation by developing and adapting tools and curricula for hosted activities within the WGSS.
  • Promote solidarity and inclusion among members, dedicating attention to the needs of adolescent girls in program activities.
  • Orient new visitors to the WGSS, maintain good relations with members, and ensure compliance with security protocols and policies.
  • Train staff, partners, volunteers, and others on GBV core concepts, risk mitigation, women's leadership, and other relevant topics.
  • Cordinate with GBV Casework Supervisors/GBV Caseworkers to ensure safe and effective integration of GBV case management services into WGSS.

Requirements:

  • Experience in women's rights and GBV-related programming is essential; relevant academic experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to core principles of GBV programming, including gender equality and survivor-centered support services.
  • Training and facilitation experience is necessary.
  • Familiarity with community structures, including government and NGO service providers.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, remain flexible, and apply experience and guidance to evolving challenges.
  • Fluent written and spoken English and local language requirements (Pushto and Dari).
