Job Title: Community Mental Health Outreach Worker

This role requires a skilled professional to provide community-based mental health support services, working closely with individuals and families in need of psychosocial assistance. The ideal candidate will have experience in social work or a related field, with a strong understanding of mental health principles and practices.

  • Identification of individuals and families in need of mental health support through outreach activities and home visits
  • Accurate referrals to mental health services, including IMC-supported PHCCs and other local NGOs/INGOs
  • Integration of mental health services into selected primary healthcare centers
  • Awareness sessions on mental health topics, with reports on attendance, age, gender, nationality, and session impact
  • Psychoeducation sessions for clients and their families
  • Conducting interviews with service users and their families to assess and review their situation, providing advice and referrals as necessary

The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, with the ability to facilitate group discussions and manage relationships with staff, communities, and partners. Basic computer literacy is also required, with fluency in the relevant local language and English language skills desirable.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field
  • One year of relevant experience in social work or a related field
  • Experience in working closely with community members throughout a program cycle
  • Understanding of program accountability principles
  • Advanced social work or mental health experience/training desired
  • Excellent listening and facilitation skills
  • Ability to mobilize people to develop and maintain relationships with staff and communities
  • Emotional maturity and agility in working in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Fluency in relevant local language; English language skills desired
