About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Editor to join our team and contribute to maintaining the highest standards of quality in fact-checking and reporting efforts. As an Editor, you will play a critical role in reviewing and editing articles for factual accuracy, clarity, grammar, and overall quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Article Review and Editing: Thoroughly review articles for factual accuracy, consistency, and adherence to editorial guidelines.
  • Copy Editing: Perform detailed copy editing to ensure correct language, tone, and style across all published content.
  • Content Management: Work closely with the Managing Editor and Associate Editor to meet editorial deadlines and manage the content pipeline.
  • Quality Control: Ensure consistency in style and formatting across all content while verifying information and sources.

Requirements:

  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in editing, journalism, or a related field is required.
  • Language Skills: Exceptional command of written English and Urdu is essential.
  • Critical Thinking: Demonstrated ability to identify and correct errors in grammar, punctuation, style, and factual accuracy.
  • Time Management: Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Cultural Insight: Strong understanding of Pakistan's political and cultural landscape, with the ability to think critically and evaluate political discourse.
  • Education: An undergraduate degree in journalism, communication, English, or a related field is preferred.
