BIM Modeler Job Description

Job Role Summary:
  • We are seeking a skilled BIM modeler to develop and maintain detailed 3D models for construction projects across the Middle East and Europe.

Detailed Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain accurate 3D BIM models, incorporating the latest design updates.
  2. Extract 2D drawings (floor plans, sections, and details) for documentation purposes.
  3. Create and manage a library of Revit families in line with project standards.
  4. Regularly update models based on design revisions and stakeholder feedback.
  5. Conduct clash detection and coordinate with multiple disciplines to resolve conflicts.
  6. Export Navisworks (.NWC) files as per agreed project timelines.
  7. Collaborate with BIM Leads, Managers, and Modellers to ensure consistency in modeling workflows.
  8. Attend coordination meetings with design and construction teams to align models with project requirements.
  9. Assist in generating shop drawings, schedules, take-offs, red-line drawings, and as-built drawings in collaboration with engineering, construction, and QA/QC teams.
  10. Provide on-site support as needed to address construction-related model issues.
Data Management & Standards:
  • Input and manage project-specific data within BIM models for analysis and simulation purposes.
  • Ensure compliance with BIM standards, project protocols, and industry best practices (e.g., BS EN ISO 19650).
  • Maintain proper document control, including revision tracking and SharePoint folder management.
  • Stay updated with advancements in BIM technologies, tools, and industry mandates.
  • Recommend improvements to BIM workflows and modeling efficiencies.
  • Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing within the project team.
  • Adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies during modeling activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Diploma or degree in MEP Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in BIM modeling, with a focus on MEP systems.
  • Proficiency in Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks Manage, and other BIM software.
  • Strong expertise in MEP workshop drawings and model accuracy.
  • Familiarity with MEP modeling standards and best practices.
  • Experience in Data Centre projects is an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
