Job Title: Care Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Care Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout their stay with us.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct Patient Care: Provide direct patient care in a calm, courteous, and tactful manner, adhering to therapeutic standards and promoting positive health outcomes.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality of care by measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards, making adjustments as necessary in consultation with the treating physician.
  • Patient Problem Resolution: Help resolve patient problems and needs by directing, guiding, or creating liaisons with other healthcare providers.
  • TB Screening: Encourage parents or guardians of children to participate in active screening for childhood TB, whether in the ward or in the outpatient department.
  • Data Management: Facilitate doctors in maintaining and sharing data with the team, ensuring that the data is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Supply Management: Ensure an adequate supply of consumables, such as forms, masks, gloves, etc.
  • Follow-up Care: Arrange proper follow-ups with patients and ensure that patients do a follow-up on time.
  • Registration Support: Accompany the patient for registration with the Provincial TB Control Program and recording and documenting the TB registration number.
  • Investigation Support: Facilitate patients in getting investigations done and following up on the investigations.
  • Incident Reporting: Notify/report incidents related to patients, staff, visitors, and any untoward occurrences in a timely manner.
  • Task Delegation: Perform delegated patient & non-patient-related tasks as directed by the respective medical officer.
  • Additional Duties: Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Head of the Department.
