Job Title: Geographic Information System Associate

Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Geographic Information System (GIS) Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, piloting, and conducting survey or administrative data collection exercises in collaboration with the project team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pilot test and conduct surveys using GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, Google Maps, and Google Earth.
  • Review digital survey tools and incorporate constraints to validate logical checks.
  • Manage and troubleshoot immediate concerns of stakeholders regarding project execution.
  • Implement real-time survey progress trackers using analytics tools like Microsoft Power BI or Google Analytics.
  • Execute technical processes involving geographical data before, during, and after fieldwork.

Requirements:

  • Masters or Bachelors degree in Economics or other Social Sciences.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience managing and training large teams.
  • Proven ability to create workflows and processes for large-scale projects.
  • Experience in budgeting and cash flow management.
  • Ability to resolve on-ground challenges with large teams.

Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in working with geographical data using GIS software.
  • Working knowledge of QField app.
  • Experience with data collection software like SurveyCTO, ODK for mapping and geographical data exercises.
  • Basic understanding of STATA, R, or Python.
  • Familiarity with analytic tools like Microsoft Power BI and Google Analytics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
