Accountant Position Overview

The Staff Accountant role is designed to support the finance team in achieving its objectives. This position will be responsible for a variety of tasks including recording financial transactions, performing bank reconciliations, and processing bills and invoices.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Record financial transactions accurately, ensuring completeness and error-free entries.
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure financial records match bank statements, resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Process bills and invoices, maintain outstanding customer invoices and vendor bills.
  • Enter general journal entries as needed for financial transactions outside standard categories.
  • Reconcile vendor and customer statements to align with external statements, addressing discrepancies.
  • Record month-end accruals accurately to reflect outstanding expenses or revenues, ensuring up-to-date financial statements.
  • Assist in recording and processing payroll transactions.
  • Maintain prepaid expense schedules to accurately reflect prepaid expenses on the balance sheet.
  • Update fixed assets register, tracking tangible asset value and depreciation.
  • Reconcile inventory records with physical counts and make necessary adjustments.
  • Generate 1099 data for review.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years accounting experience preferably with US clients.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • CPA or relevant certifications are advantageous.
