Job Title: Environmental and Social Manager

We are seeking an experienced Environmental and Social Manager to join our team. As a key member of our project, you will be responsible for ensuring the compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations, including those set by OSHAS, project Lenders and the Government.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring project compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations;
  • Implementing the Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP);
  • Overseeing the E&S performance of the Operations Contractor;
  • Preparing and submitting project permit applications and renewals;
  • Engaging with project stakeholders on a regular basis;
  • Liaising with various agencies responsible for implementation of the project's commitments;
  • Monitoring and supporting the implementation of MPL's Corporate Social Responsibility commitments and livelihood restoration commitments;
  • Compliance monitoring and reporting;
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Monitoring and supporting the implementation of best practice environmental, social, health and safety policies, plans and procedures;
  • Engaging with local communities affected by project activities;
  • Inspection and compliance monitoring and reporting;
  • Familiarity with IFC Environmental and Social Performance Standards;
