Job Title:

Senior Programme Manager, Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment

Role Overview:

The Deputy Country Representative plays a pivotal role in leading the country programme, driving strategic direction, and overseeing programme implementation. As a senior member of the management team, they will contribute to designing and managing programmes, conceptualizing and implementing initiatives, and providing advisory support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead programme design, implementation, and oversight, ensuring alignment with UN Women's strategies
  • Manage and coach a team of programme staff, fostering an enabling work environment and promoting professional growth
  • Conceptualize and implement innovative programmes addressing gender equality and women's empowerment
  • Develop policy documents, briefs, and other strategic papers to inform decision-making
  • Serve as a key advisor to the Country Representative on strategic matters
Requirements:
  • Masters degree in international development, economics, gender studies, or a relevant field is required
  • At least 7 years of experience in development programmes, focusing on gender equality and women's empowerment
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills, with experience managing multicultural teams
  • Excellent programme formulation, implementation, and monitoring skills, as well as budget management expertise
