IT Operations Manager

Description:

We are seeking an experienced IT professional to oversee the day-to-day operations of our IT function. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring maximum availability of computer systems, developing and implementing new systems, and managing the IT department.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure maximum availability of computer systems throughout the organization.
  • Plan, commission, and decommission EITV devices as required.
  • Provide IT infrastructure services including desktop applications, local and/or wide area networks, IT security, and telecommunications.
  • Develop and implement new systems to meet business needs.
  • Work with senior management to propose, agree, and deliver IT services to defined service level agreements.
  • Manage the IT department, including staff appraisals, disciplining, pay reviews, and career development.
  • Purchase IT hardware, software, and maintenance contracts.
  • Develop and maintain a disaster recovery plan to ensure business continuity.
  • Develop and control the IT security policy to protect company data.
  • Maintain and develop the company website to improve online presence.
  • Provide regular written reports to senior management on all aspects of the IT department.
Requirements:
  1. Proven experience in managing an IT department or equivalent role.
  2. Experience in IT infrastructure planning and development is essential.
  3. Strong team leading skills with the ability to motivate and direct staff.
  4. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  5. Commissioning and de-commissioning of EITV devices is a must.
  6. Preference given to candidates with experience in shipping/logistic companies and Afghan transit routes.
