Data Platform Architect

Designing and delivering a secure, scalable, and cost-efficient Data as a Service platform on Azure Databricks technology requires expertise in installing and scaling Databricks clusters.
As a Senior System Engineer, you'll be part of a cross-functional team building and maintaining this platform from scratch. Your day-to-day job involves building and maintaining performance and reliability of the data platform.
We follow industry standards to ensure stability, scalability, and cost efficiency. Our teams strive for the highest possible uptime, great performance, and best-in-class levels of security through an automation-first approach.
Key responsibilities include maintaining Infrastructure as Code for the Data as a Service platform, participating in refining architecture, and being on call for customers in production.
Long-term goals involve growing into a Principal System Engineer position, driving cross-team initiatives, and taking on more responsibilities in product design.
- Proven expertise in Databricks infrastructure: maintenance, scaling, performance tuning, cost optimization;
- Beneficial experience with multi-tenant installation in Databricks;
- Building, scaling, and maintaining data platforms on public cloud (preferably Azure);
- Monitoring and metrics: Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor;
- Programming and automation experience;
- Desired state configuration management in cloud environments (Terraform/OpenTofu preferred);
- At least 5 years in a similar role running workloads on public cloud;
- Knowledge of GitOps / ArgoCD is a plus;
- Comfortable with CLI-based tooling and Linux operating systems;
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
