Laundry and Linen Department Manager

This position is responsible for managing and supervising the day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping / Laundry Department. Key responsibilities include:

  • Staff Supervision: Assigning tasks to supervisors, officers, and staff members to ensure that all areas of responsibility are being met.
  • Cleaning Standards: Ensuring that high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene are maintained throughout all facilities.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Inspecting equipment regularly to identify any repair or cleaning needs and making recommendations accordingly.
  • Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of activities, including staff assignments, facility visits, and complaint investigations.
  • Collaboration: Collaborating with nursing and other departments to allocate staff according to cleaning requirements and ensuring seamless communication.

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Reporting: Submitting monthly departmental performance reports by a designated deadline.
  • Code of Conduct: Maintaining strict adherence to organizational codes of conduct and confidentiality policies.
  • Waste Management: Managing waste and sharps disposal in accordance with established policies, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Training: Providing training and support to staff members as needed to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
