Job Overview

The Diet Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to food preparation and service in a healthcare setting.

  • Perform routine work duties, utilizing various dietary utensils, supplies, and equipment as assigned by the manager.
  • Assist the cook in meal preparation and service.
  • Meet scheduled deadlines for preparing patient meals on time.
  • Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as assigned.
  • Support with tray card arrangements, loading food carts, and serving meals.
  • Wash and store dishes.
  • Identify and report any damaged or loose fixtures, flooring, or tiling requiring replacement or repair.
  • Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies.
  • Carry out other departmental duties or special assignments as directed by the manager.
  • Prepare food items and assemble ready foods for patient trays.
  • Serve food in patient rooms and the cafeteria.
  • Deliver food trays to patients' units and dining areas.
  • Provide services in the dining room and dish room.
Required Qualifications

This role requires the following qualifications:

  • Intermediate level qualification.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Diet Aid.
