Effective technology risk management is crucial in driving innovation and upholding operational excellence. As a Tech Risk & Control Associate, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating compliance and operational risks.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise and technical guidance to technology-aligned process owners, ensuring that implemented controls are operating effectively and in compliance with regulatory, legal, and industry standards. This involves partnering with various stakeholders, including Product Owners, Business Control Managers, and Regulators, to contribute to the reporting of a comprehensive view of technology risk posture and its impact on the business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring effective identification, quantification, communication, and management of technology risk
  • Developing and maintaining robust relationships with LOB technologists, assessments teams, and data officers to facilitate cross-functional collaboration and progress toward shared goals
  • Executing reporting and governance of controls, policies, issue management, and measurements, offering senior management insights into control effectiveness and informing governance work
  • Proactively monitoring and evaluating control effectiveness, identifying gaps, and recommending enhancements to strengthen risk posture and regulatory compliance

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills include:

  • Formal training or certification in Tech Risk & Controls and 2+ years of applied experience
  • Expertise in technology risk management, information security, or a related field, emphasizing risk identification, assessment, and mitigation
  • Experience in risk identification, assessment, and control evaluation, and threat modeling with a strong understanding of industry standards
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, develop and implement risk mitigation and threat modeling strategies, and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders
  • Proficient knowledge of risk management frameworks, regulations, threat modeling methodologies, and industry best practices

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills include CISM, CRISC, CISSP, or similar industry-recognized risk and risk certifications. Familiarity with threat modeling initiatives and integrating them into broader risk management frameworks is also desirable.
