Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating the Head of Department in overseeing the efficient management and supervision of clinical and academic activities within the ENT Department. This includes ensuring effective patient care, teaching, and training of students.

Responsibilities:
  • Lecture Delivery: Deliver high-quality lectures, seminars, and practical skills training to undergraduate students according to the curriculum.
  • Postgraduate Training: Facilitate postgraduate trainees in clinical presentations, small group discussions, case-based and problem-based teaching, and prepare them for inter-module examinations and dissertations.
  • Clinical Meetings: Collaborate with other professional organizations to organize CPC/clinical meetings and conferences.
  • Research and Development: Coordinate research and development activities within the department, facilitating publication requirements for faculty members and postgraduate trainees.
  • Patient Care: Develop and convey knowledge for the basic management of common patient care problems, enhancing clinical and practical skills of students.
  • Examinations: Assist the Head of Department in conducting examinations of MBBS/BDS students.
  • Clinical Rounds: Manage and supervise new patients referred for specialist advice during regular OPD sessions.
  • Medical Procedures: Conduct medical procedures in the ward under the supervision of senior consultants.
  • Specialist Advice: Provide specialist advice on medical problems of patients referred from other departments.
  • Assessment: Assess patients in the emergency department if required for consultancy.
  • On-Call Commitments: Ensure on-call commitments after regular duty hours to provide cover for critical patients.
  • Departmental Inquiries: Assist the Head of Department in departmental confidential inquiries of mortalities.
  • Staff Management: Manage, supervise, and train staff to ensure the delivery of quality health services.
  • Ward Management: Prepare and monitor duty rota of the department.
  • Hospital Liaison: Maintain close liaison with hospital administration to ensure proper ward management.
  • Islamic and Medical Ethics: Adhere to Islamic and medical ethics as per IIMCT's mission statement.
