Senior Engineering Project Manager

As a Senior Engineering Project Manager, you will lead the planning and execution of R&D projects and new initiatives from concept through completion. You will manage project budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure successful delivery.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead cross-functional teams to define project requirements and objectives.
  • Develop and review project tenders, engineering equipment specifications, and service level agreements in collaboration with the team and departmental head.
  • Initiate procurement of supplies, services, and after-sale support required for the projects.
  • Collaborate with the Design & Analyses team to ensure that designs meet requirements.
  • Develop and review NCB and ICB bidding documents in compliance with PPRA and PEC rules and regulations.
  • Finalize procurement mode, strategy, and procurement cycle time in consultation with the departmental head and Procurement Department.
  • Foster an environment of innovation and continuous improvement within project teams.
  • Ensure compliance with project contracts, industry regulations, and standards.
  • Report on a regular basis the project status, any challenges being faced, and outcomes to the departmental head.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation in line with best practices.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for potential projects.
  • Lead the process of identification and development of new technologies and solutions to address business needs.
  • As a mentor to develop junior engineers within the project teams.
  • Coordinate with the operational department for the implementation of projects.
  • Coordinate with external partners and vendors to support project objectives.
  • Oversee the integration of new technologies into existing systems and processes.
  • Support the development and maintenance of engineering standards and specifications.
  • Develop and implement training programs for project management methodologies.
  • Develop familiarity with PPRA, PEC, API, PSQCA, ISO, ASME, PPRA, AGA, ANSI standards and rules and regulations.
  • Identify and assess risks under their management/ownership.
  • Develop and implement risk response strategies for the risks under their management.
  • Monitor risks and response strategies under their management.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of information provided for risk reporting.
Requirements:

A Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field from a recognized university, along with minimum 09 years of post-qualification experience in R&D, including at least 3 years in a project management role. Experience in Oil and Gas/Public sector is preferred.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Project Management certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, etc.)
  • Experience in managing large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
