Accounting Leadership Position

KBM invites applications for the position of Experienced Accountant to manage the work done for UK office.

The Role

We are seeking a seasoned accounting professional to oversee and manage a team of bookkeepers, ensuring timely delivery of quality information to senior managers and other departments within the practice.

You will build relationships throughout the practice to ensure cohesive working between the bookkeeping team and departments such as accounts, payroll, and tax. Alongside the Director, you will identify and deliver process improvements, focusing on efficiencies and output.

Responsibilities include reviewing VAT returns, bookkeeping files, and supporting schedules, resolving internal and external queries arising from bookkeeping review, and delivering training, guidance, and development of the team.

  • Cash Accounting knowledge
  • Partial Exemption understanding
  • Flat Rate Scheme expertise
  • Margin Scheme proficiency
  • Export/Import VAT and Duty awareness
  • Property Rules knowledge

Additional responsibilities include preparing FRS 102 1A standard accounts and FRS 105 accounts, producing draft tax computations, and fulfilling any relevant additional/ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have proven management and leadership skills, strong organizational skills, and ability to successfully manage multiple tasks.

You should also possess excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, and be conscientious, self-motivated, resilient, and goal-oriented.

A strong analytical ability and decision-making skills are essential, as well as ability to develop new skills and understand new technology as required.

Technical Requirements

Experience in following accounting software is essential, with excellent knowledge of Xero and Sage Line 50. Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Excel is also necessary.

Good knowledge of QuickBooks is preferable but not essential.
