Pharmacist Job Description

The Aga Khan University Hospital's pharmacy offers a comprehensive healthcare service, providing all medical services under one roof.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Pharmacist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for dispensing medications in various settings, reviewing physician orders, and monitoring laboratory reports.

Responsibilities:
  • Dispense medications in inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory pharmacies.
  • Review and process physician orders for accurate therapeutic doses.
  • Monitor laboratory reports for proper indication of antibiotics, drug interactions, and duplication of same-class medications.
  • Ensure timely delivery of medication to nursing units and patients.
  • Verify accuracy of labels before dispensing.
  • Complete expiration of drug lists accurately and on time.
  • Assist with patient counseling for outpatient prescriptions and maintenance of cash.
  • Prepare cytotoxic drugs, TPN solutions, IVPB mixtures, sterile injections, bulk compounding, and monitor chemo-critical lists.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, applicants should have:

  • A Doctorate/Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from a recognized university.
  • Current registration with the Pharmacy Council of Pakistan.
  • At least one year of experience in a reputable organization.
  • Familiarity with hospital pharmacy operations and processes.
  • Solid knowledge of physiology, pharmacology, and pharmaceutical concepts.
  • Awareness of locally available medications, pharmaceuticals, and their indications.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly with medical professionals and patients.
  • Willingsness to work in shift duties.
