Network Engineer

This is a challenging role for individuals with technical expertise in network systems.

Job Description:

As a Network Resident Engineer, you will be responsible for providing expert-level technical support and escalation services to customers. This includes tracking and resolving complex issues related to network infrastructure, as well as providing day-to-day operational support. Your responsibilities will include maintaining high technical competency, working independently, and utilizing standard network management tools and internal ticketing systems to deliver efficient solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for network-related issues.
  • Monitor and resolve network incidents affecting site availability and performance.
  • Produce and maintain accurate documentation of network infrastructure designs, configurations, and changes.
  • Liaise with other departments, vendors, and suppliers on network-related matters.
  • Develop comprehensive implementation plans for major network changes, including specific modifications, timelines, and contingency strategies.
  • Collaborate with architectural teams to ensure design accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Work closely with project management teams to understand project deliverables, commit to timelines, and provide implementation support during business and out-of-business hours.

Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will need the following skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar technical role.
  • CCNP-R&S Network Certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of IP addressing, subnetting, VLSM, ARP, reverse & proxy ARP, and Ping concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with VLAN Trunks, VTP, Etherchannel, STP, RSTP, and MST technologies.
  • Configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco Access, Distribution, and Core switches.
  • LAN/WAN architecture expertise, with experience in IP services.
  • Preferably experience with Wireless and Access Points (AP), especially Aruba Controller/AP.
  • Cisco Routers and Switches platform experience required.
  • Understanding of routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
