Business Intelligence Developer

The Business Intelligence Developer plays a pivotal role in the design, development, testing, maintenance, and support of data warehouses and business intelligence solutions.

This position involves creating robust data warehouse and business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Business Intelligence tools and underlying technologies.

  1. Key Responsibilities:

  2. Design, construct, and manage Data Warehouses and Business Intelligence solutions with expertise.

  3. Analyze problems, applying structured analysis and design techniques to develop effective solutions.

  4. Maintain good grounding in development best practices, including requirements definition, analysis, design, testing, implementation, documentation, and ongoing support.

  5. Utilize strong skills in Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008, encompassing:

    1. SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
    2. SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
    3. SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)

  6. Develop Business Intelligence solutions (reports, dashboards, scorecards) using Microsoft SSRS, SSAS, and MDX within a data warehousing environment.

  7. Experience designing and implementing ETL processes.

  8. Ability to run and develop complex MDX queries.

  9. Perform detailed data analysis, examining source systems and data samples to determine structure, content, and quality.

  10. Demonstrate advanced knowledge of OLAP/MOLAP technologies and dimensional modeling, and their applicability to various reporting challenges.

  11. Bonus Skills:

  12. Proficiency in BI Tools such as ProClarity, MS Performance Point, SPSS Clementine

  13. MS Visual Studio

  14. MS SharePoint

  15. Power Pivot

  16. Cubes and Data marts

  17. Data Warehousing methodologies, especially Kimball

  18. Background in consumer and marketing data analysis and reporting
