Job Title: Network Engineer

The role of a Network Engineer is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation and high availability of network infrastructure.

  • Design, Implementation, and Management:
  • Network Engineers design, implement, and manage secure and highly available network infrastructure solutions that cater to the dynamic needs of the organization.
  • They configure and maintain firewall platforms across various vendors including Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet FortiGate, Cisco ASA, and others.

Key Responsibilities and Skills:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive network security policies, incorporating firewall rules, VPNs, NAT, and access controls to safeguard against potential threats.
  • Design, configure, and troubleshoot complex Layer 2/3 networks utilizing VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, and static routing to ensure optimal performance and efficient data transmission.
  • Deploy and support VXLAN EVPN-based fabric networks within enterprise or data center environments.
  • Implement SD-WAN solutions to facilitate distributed enterprise connectivity and application optimization.
  • Deploy and maintain enterprise wireless networks (WLAN), integrating with wired infrastructure and security frameworks.
  • Conduct in-depth network troubleshooting using packet captures, diagnostics, and logs across multi-vendor environments to identify and rectify issues promptly.
  • Document network configurations, topology diagrams, and operational runbooks accurately to ensure knowledge retention and effective handovers.
  • Monitor network performance, proactively identifying and addressing capacity needs to guarantee optimal functionality and minimize downtime.
Qualifications and Requirements:

Network Engineers must possess a deep understanding of network technologies, protocols, and architectures. Key qualifications include:

  • Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and managing secure and high-availability network infrastructure solutions.
  • Familiarity with firewall platforms and ability to configure and maintain them effectively.
  • Knowledge of network security policies and procedures for developing comprehensive security strategies.
  • Proficiency in designing, configuring, and troubleshooting complex Layer 2/3 networks.
  • Experience with VXLAN EVPN-based fabric networks and SD-WAN solutions.
  • Understanding of wireless networking technologies and integration with wired infrastructure.
  • Ability to conduct in-depth network troubleshooting and document findings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve complex network issues efficiently.
